CASA Family Systems
HISTORY
CASA/Family Systems was chartered in July 1979 as Tri County CASA (Citizens Against Sexual Assault) as a rape crisis center.
This was an effort by a group of citizens in Bamberg, Calhoun and Orangeburg counties who were concerned about victims of sexual assault. Those concerned included medical and mental health providers, and law enforcement. In 1990, the agency expanded its services to include victims of domestic violence and in 1991 changed its name to CASA/Family Systems to be more inclusive of the array of services offered and to recognize the growth.
